Needs fixed is one of the more charming colloquialisms. Maybe we should start that thread.
When my kid was applying to schools I told her she could only apply to schools in the “needs fixed” zone if she promised never to pick up that habit. I’m sure I use regional constructions that sound equally odd to others, but they’re my regional constructions so they are correct to me.
What’s up with “take a listen?” as opposed to “let’s listen.” It’s everywhere.

A couple of paragraphs down is the map that needs viewed. I’m right there in the middle of that sea of blue dots, and one of the offenders, as well. There’s more time to do things that need done without all those extra words.
Definitely a regional thing, I guess.
“When did “ly” adverbs die? This drives me nuts and the perpetrators include a very wide range of folks, including national news anchors, reporters, news media, etc.”
Recent trends indicate “ly” is on the upswing. Bigly.
