Zuh? Absolutely not! I don’t blame the contestants at all, although the socioeconomic and gender-role conditions that make such an activity so appealing to so many are worthy of critique, imo.
Who’s shaming? I’m recommending evolving, not shaming.
I don’t approve of a system that churns those women through and out, often at great personal detriment to themselves, just for our entertainment. There are a lot of people around those women who are profiting off of them and using them for their own personal gain.
When I said “we can do better”, I mean as a society that can choose to promote healthier career choices for women, not the women themselves. Society elevates beauty pageants-that’s what I have an issue with. It creates a big negative ripple effect where people think “oh I have to look like that” to be considered attractive.
It’s just ugly and unhealthy to judge people on their looks.
I happened to see something about Miss Canada being excoriated on social media for being “fat.” Find a picture of her in her bathing suit…this woman is “fat” like Sophia Vergara is “fat.” They both put the P in pulchritude.
Ugly and unhealthy is right.
edit: try and be nice, fractalmstr… try and be nice…
I have never seen so much (head) hair. I did find it amusing that the adjacent channels all had shows linked with the current president (Celebrity apprentice, protesters) . You can’t get away from it.
What lovely comments. Love trumps hate right. 8-|
