I recommended that, and I still would not be overly negative in an essay, you can definitely have your son express his frustrations though. And you will need staff down the road for recs etc. However if the school caused his injury and they’re being this difficult , you have to get some kind of advocate to help, as parents have rights and influence. Can you get him on a 504 or IEP? Anyway colleges are a lot more supportive, tutors, office of disabilities and other services, so I wouldn’t generalize your experience to all higher ed places.
