First of all, you do have legal rights. Contact the Office of Civil Rights in your area. Federal law supersedes state and local law. Give them the report in chronological order. Separate medical from educational. Once they are involved, you will see big changes. It is an emotionally draining process, stay focused. I used to prepare for the phone calls, meetings, etc. with meticulous notes and a poker face. I tried to never display emotion. I practiced the conversations at home as if I was an attorney, preparing for a case and laying it out for a judge or jury. It is VERY difficult, but I found it worked best for my situation.
