CNN is getting their highest ratings since like the guff war with this situation. It’s ridiculous. Last night they were speculating about supernatural intervention.

It’s captured the public’s imagination. The Russia-Crimea issue isn’t nearly as interesting, particularly to a country (US) which is really tired of war and conflict.

The sad thing is that none of this speculation is helping anyone or anything (other than ratings of news). It’s like an international “reality show,” but much, much sadder.

I do not like flying.
One of Hs friends was killed today in Seattle as he was taking off.

Anyone read this?

How awful, emeraldkity! I hate helicopters.

Many fans of the comic books scene in Paris and Brussels are intimately familiar with the adventures of Tintin. Eerily enough, half a century ago, the author Hergé penned this story:

<a href=“Flight 714 to Sydney - Wikipedia”>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_714

see article in the Daily Star:

<a href=“Malaysian plane mystery copies comic story of hijacked jet which landed on remote island - Daily Star”>http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/370076/Malaysian-plane-mystery-copies-comic-story-of-hijacked-jet-which-landed-on-remote-island

emeraldkity, I read your wired story. It makes more sense to me than anything else I’ve read/heard (assuming the information is correct).

So sorry, emerald. Sounded horrific.

That’s the article I linked yesterday. Busdriver pointed out some of the flaws in his theory in post #???.

@emeraldkity - I saw the report on the evening news. I’m really sorry - that’s very difficult.

emilybee, I found busdriver’s post on that - it’s on page 16. Thanks.

The helicopter might have had mechanical problems according to witnesses who heard a whine.
I wouldn’t be able to tell. When ever my car makes a new noise, H tells me it’s been doing that for years.

It has been reported that people on a remote island in the Maldives said they saw a low flying jet fly over their island the day the plane went missing. The Maldives are on a direct route to Pakistan.

The Madlives are not on a direct route to Pakistan from Malaysia. Perhaps you meant Somalia?

And the plane went missing in the middle of the night. Not during the day.

Think the Maldives sit directly below Pakistan with a distance of about 1800 miles between them, most of which is ocean. The theory postulated was that to avoid flying over India, the plane flew out into the Indian Ocean over the Maldives, into the Arabian Sea and then directly into Pakistan. This would have kept the plane over water for the whole trip, supposedly in an effort to avoid detection.

I’m so kind of just done with the speculation (not directed at anyone here). They might be dragging innocent people through the mud and it’s just not right until they have the facts (I’m currently referring to the “deleted data” off the flight simulator which is leading to a lot of speculation but might not mean a darn thing).

From now on, I’m sticking to my alien abduction theory as that has about as much credit as anything else. Actually, at this point, it might hold more weight than anything else I’ve heard. At least it explains the sudden disappearance and lack of debris.

ETA: EK, I’m very sorry for your loss.

Deleting electrical fire link. Sorry I did not see it was posted before. :(

At this point in time the alien abduction theory is not really all that far fetched!

That’s the 3rd time that electrical fire link has been posted and busdriver gave thoughts on page 16 of this thread.

Wasn’t it a redeye? It couldn’t have gone missing during the day.

I am with romani on this. Initially, we got all worked up over the stolen passports. The flight simulator could be the key to the case or just an innocent quiky hobby of an individual.
