The left picture looks like someone pieced together two pictures incorrectly, as the lower half looks the same as the lower half of the right picture.

Making a connection and never leaving the airport may not require “entering” and “exiting” the country (i.e. passport check by immigration authorities) for some countries.

However, it is possible that the stolen passport users used valid passports to show to Malaysian immigration at the entry and exit checks (they entered Malaysia on valid passports several days before) while using the stolen passports and identities for airline ticketing purposes.

^ No. The two men stayed at their friend’s house in KL the night before the trip. They did not depart from the transit area.
Also they could not show their real passorts because the names on the passports would not match the names on the boarding passes.

Ok… so let’s say it was hijacked and taken to a deserted island… why hasn’t anything been released yet? Terrorist groups seem to want to take credit ASAP when emotions are still very raw.

Also, if phones really are working and still “ringing”, I’m amazed at the battery life. Not joking- my phone only lasts about a day even if not doing anything.

The plane does cost a pretty penny. Boeing makes custom 747 s for richie rich customers and was planning to switch to 777. Apparently, it is pretty cool to have a plane like that when you already own every toy car on the planet. Plus, you can live in it! The only problem - if you are the leader of a rogue state or a terrorist, Boeing is not going to even talk to you. Plus who wants to wait 5-7 years to get the order!! So it is not a completely out of this world scenario. Not very likely, but not crazy either.

When the battery on MY phone is dead, callers still hear my phone ringing AND can leave voice mail messages. I can’t retrieve them…but the functions still work.

Well, MAYBE Chinese satellite images has found some missing jet debris. This sure is a strange case, even though many nations are trying to cooperate and collaborate.

I hope the object in the satellite picture released by the Chinese is part of the airplane and some passengers are still alive. But I doubt that. Why don’t they just silently send a boat to that area right away to verify instead of publishing the image? It’s past 2 PM there now. We will know the truth in couple hours.

It’s increasingly sounding as if the plane might have been hijacked and landed somewhere, quite possibly with the collusion of at least one of the pilots.
