CNN is reporting that Clark has been arrested.

I can’t imagine how his parents are feeling. WHY OH WHY do people do these types of things. I don’t get it, never will.

The article says Le’s murder was a result of “workplace violence” - what does that mean? He kills her because he’s angry about the type or manner of her research? Wasn’t she part of a team of researchers?

The letter from President Levin says Clark has been employed at Yale since Dec 2004. Where and what type of work did he do before?

I think “workplace violence” is a term for violence against a co-worker in the work setting. I don’t think it refers to the motive – sometimes it has nothing to do with the persons who are victims – such as shootings where a person just went over the edge and shot up their workplace.

Latest development is that Clark MAY have had help concealing Le’s body:

I can see that. I bet he was swapping his card all over looking for a specific person to help him. And it is strange that his girlfriend moved out that same day.

He plans to plead guilty:

An update:

Was that murder really 2 years ago?

I don’t see how they have much of a case, unless there is something about Clark’s background that Yale knew or should have known. The stuff about campus safety is really irrelevant to this case.

At my alma mater, I recall a sociology professor stating in class that civil neglience cases against the university almost never succeeded. And he proved right about a particularly tragic case concerning the death of a young woman. Not a murder case, however.

It will likely be settled out of court. Yale has had its difficulties over the years, and a trial that attempts to detail Yale’s culpability in a range of incidents, probably many of which are either previously unknown or forgotten, will not be in their interest. Yale is an easy mark in this particular case.
