--MIT Early Action Countdown Thread--

^^modesty is the best policy…

That is all.

just checked- decisions.mit.edu is up and you can verify your username and password now…

raj91- what category were you in at ISEF? i was in energy & transportation

Ugh, my friend just got deferred from Dartmouth and this all seems too real now. I’m not even looking forward to Monday at this point.

I know! My friend who is AMAZING got deferred from Dartmouth. Maybe my essays will pull me through?

So I just got the email from MIT Admissions announcing that decisions will be online on Monday (haha, like I didn’t know that already…) and it says

" Admissions decisions will be available exclusively online."

and

" This year, we will only be announcing decisions online, so if you
haven’t created a MyMIT account, make sure to create one so you can
find out your admissions decision. "

does…does this mean no actual mail at all? no letter? no TUBE for the lucky few???

I guess no tube =/

It’s going to be slightly saddening even getting in now!

However… On the bright side this could mean that they’re accepting more EA applicants this year and they can’t send out that many tubes!!!

nah, I don’t think they would end the tradition. would they?

however, would anyone happen to know when the mail is delivered after the announce date? I live in Virginia, and I’d kinda like to know how long I would have to wait after Monday to get a tube or letter.

“However… On the bright side this could mean that they’re accepting more EA applicants this year and they can’t send out that many tubes!!!”

Dear Lord, I hope so.

Well when the day they released online decisions was a Saturday, they’d mail them Friday I think.

oh my gawd i really really really really want a tube…:(

But you can’t have one (from MIT anyway). I just got an email saying that their only announcing it online this year, :frowning: what, too many tubes to send out. :)

on the other hand… I think I won’t feel as bad when I get deferred/rejected now. Because even though other people get accepted, they don’t get a really cool tube either.

:) wellll, it IS one way to look at it :/

but it’s a TRADITION!!! HOW COULD THEY NOT DO IT

Hopefully they meant just for early action? Maybe we’ll get our tubes with everyone else in march? better than nothing…

I want a tube !!!

Ok so today I went online and caught a glimpse of a subject line and all I saw was "MIT Admissions D…"and I like freaked out cause I thought it said decisions, but it was just directions for getting your decision haha

EA people would either get them next week or not at all, because RD people don’t get tubes.

“There are no interim screens, so you should be sure you are ready to receive your decision online before logging in to decisions.mit.edu.”

It’s gonna be like jumping into cold water! That’s gonna be a nerve wracking moment, I can already imagine my eyes darting around frantically, looking for the keywords rejected, deferred, or accepted.

And we’re 122 hours away from the decision now.

yep. tradition didn’t end.

^^ahhhh yes, just saw this.

yay tubes!

I can’t believe MIT isn’t going to prepare us for the decision. I guess they decided it would be even more nerve-wrecking for us.
