@guezmike
I am from Miami, Florida! How about you?

We are in VA and I just checked the mail and it’s a big envelope from MIT! She’s in! I can not even believe it. Wow!

Of course, she’s not home and will not be back until tomorrow. But, of course I am good Mom so I held it up to the light and it says Congratulations!

@Labrat
lmao. im from MIami too!!! what school do go to?

ugh… I can’t wait any longer… lol! hurry mail! hurrry !

I am sooo nervous. I live all the way in Washington state.

@guezmike:
Hialeah! U?

I live in FL as well, so I guess if I didn’t get anything today that means I wasn’t accepted, oh well. YESS decision comes on Monday.

For those accepted what does the letter say inside?

Thanks.

Hey everyone, just wanted to congratulate those who were accepted. Sadly, I didn’t receive any letters from MIT so I’m assuming that I’ll be receiving a rejection letter at some point :(

I guess this shouldn’t be a surprise since my teacher recommendations weren’t very good.

Well, on the bright side that gives me more time to work on my science fair project over the summer. I hope you guys enjoy your time at MIT. Make good use of it :)

Also, for those that are still waiting it is a large 9x12 envelope but it DID NOT come via express, just regular mail via USPS.

Congrats to those who got in. I’m still hoping for Monday, but I guess I got rejected. I really wanted to attend MITES, but I’ll just explore other opportunities this summer.

EDIT:

@VAMom

Really? Thank God. I was getting pretty upset. Hopefully Monday brings good news (:

jbrown - what area of the country are you located?

Good luck to all who are still waiting to hear!

@2011VABrown: It states: “Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to join the 2010 Minority Introduction to Engineering and Sciences (MITES) Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology…” Other papers such as the Acceptance form and health forms are enclosed.
@jbrown93, TQSMNTASP, and NiteStriker: Give it a couple of days, I remember some individuals who were accepted into the program last year got their letters on different days and they were from the same state.

Texas, which is a decent amount away from Massachusetts, so its likely that it just didn’t get here yet.

@2011VAMom* I am so sorry about the mispelling

Ok, well if it is by regular mail, then it could theoretically turn up anywhere between 2 days and about a week.

Did anyone from ny hear anything?

@Labrat

Wow, really? That gives me a sigh of relief since I live in Northern Virginia but didn’t receive a letter today. I guess I’ll just wait until the end of next week.

EDIT: I guess it’s also possible that the admissions office didn’t send all the acceptance letters at once.

I live in TN, but still haven’t received anything.
