MITES 2010 Information & Discussion

@ FROTW
haha, same. i honestly thought that i wouldn’t get into even SSP. I got into SSP and MITES, so I was like WAHHH?!

I got an e-mail from Ms. Tenorio, and apparently, I mistakenly got a rejection letter. I am on the wait list.

Ahh… one more month.

MIT15, I hope we both get in! lol

Good luck to everyone else who still hasn’t received a result yet.

Hpaero - Wow! That is great. It’s a sign; you are gonna get in, because they feel bad for sending you the wrong letter. Keep us posted.

2011VAMom,

Thanks! I hope that’s true. =) I feel happy just knowing that I’m on the waitlist, but it would feel even better to get in. The decisions for the waitlist people come out May 21 which is such a long time. I wonder how many people are put on the waitlist. :-/

Did she say how they even discovered the error?

No, she did not say. She said that I was originally placed on the wait-list, but received a rejection letter accidentally. I don’t know how that happened. o_O

@hpaero1 woo! thats a great mistake for them to catch, huh? haha, well I hope we both get in!

^haha yeah. I hope we both make it.
But I’m wondering why anyone would not go to MITES if they were accepted.

still haven’t gotten a letter…I’m in AZ

Maybe they don’t want to go because they were scared off by the acceptance letter…

was waitlisted!
i guess that is better than nothing…

how many people were waitlisted? seems like a lot…

@FROTW5693
Haha, maybe. Or maybe they thought it would be too hard? Oh well, I don’t think many people would decline the offer though.

@woohoo2011
Yeah, it does seem like a lot of people got waitlisted. I guess it’s because there were more applicants …?

Good luck to all waitlistees! =)

still no letter.

REJECTED :confused: oh well.

@yesican actually my highschool isnt that big. The enrollment is about 2800 total(junior senior only) but its REALLY FREAKING CROWDED. the funniest part is i see people everyday that i have never seen before lol

sry :frowning: i’m a girl :frowning: so i might slow you down on your runs :frowning: im not really good at track or cross country but today i had a meet and got bronze in the shot put relay! I run 800m, 1000M, 1600M, and 3200m in track. and I was actually training for a marathon but i have to do a half-marathon instead because i have APs to do :(. it quite sucks.

but my flat 5k time is probably around 23 minutes and my 5k cross country time…dont worry about that lol. around a 28 and 29 :frowning: but it gets me in the top half. but im thinking i have the ability to get top 10 so we can train towards that!

and good luck on your APs!! i have to take english, comp sci, biology, and us history :(

I’m wondering if i should “unsubscribe” to this thread :confused: I think I will, bye MITES 2010 :D

hey everyone who got accepted join the facebook group!

23s in 5k for girls isnt bad at all. I run low 19s. have yet to break 18. I ran a half marathon in january. I loved it. ran 1 hour and 43 minutes. which is alright, for my first time. And I also do distance in track. I run the 1600m and the 3200m. PRs 4:56 and 11:17 respectively. :)
