^^^^ I’ll know Monday hopefully. I’m going away Tuesday-Thursday, and my mom is stopping our mail! So it could come and I won’t get it until the post office mails tues-thurs’ mail… Maybe Friday.

Yeah bowdoin sent me a huge packet too -___-

Just got a full scholarship for the Governer’s School in Math. The hardest one to get into. But, it only lasts a week. Still crossing my fingers for MITES, good thing I will know soon and will be able to respond back to the Governer’s school quickly.

CPU, you’re supposed to be one of the first ppl to get decisions besides skeppy. If you stop your mail, we won’t know when everything’s mailed!

And this is kind of random but is Bowdoin pronounced “boo-doe-in” or “bow-dwin”?

Bow, Din(like Gin with a D)

Oooh, thanks Ratiocinator

Sorry guys

reading the new posts every day when i get home makes me smile. i hope we can all be friends this summer because seriously this is the most entertaining group ever which sounds dumb cause all we’re doing is being bored losers buuuuut that’s okay and i love it!!(:

entrevox11–i love that you used the nickname skeppy! cause i was totally the one who came up with that (;

anywayzzzz guys i’m super happy cause i ran a 6:07 mile at my track meet today WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! =D

oh and i hope our letters come soon cause i got into NHS today and i want a continuing trend of good luck! good things come in three’s, no? so let’s have MITES be the third, my mile time and NHS acceptance being the first two.

With this new info i surmise that letters should either come saturday or officially the next week

Congrats on your mile time Jamaican :D

I had my NHS induction last week! How serious is NHS at your school? (the only way you can get rejected at my school is if you’ve been suspended).

Is NHS something actually realistic? I always thought it was a joke and deleted those e-mails and threw out those letters. Whoops…Isn’t it something you have to pay for?

skeppy–getting into NHS is kind of a joke, for the most part. basically, if your GPA qualifies (i think it’s 3.5?), your teachers like you, you can write a halfway decent essay, and you either volunteer or have some sort of leadership position, you’re in. but then there are those random people you’d expect to get in that don’t. chances are, if you meet the above criteria, you’re in, but it’s a little stressful considering the off-chance of a brain fart of the admissions committee. and the people in NHS do stuff like selling popcorn at lunch wednesdays, putting on the annual talent show, and selling carnations for valentines cough i mean “single’s awareness” cough day. so it’s really not a big deal, but compared to yours i guess it’s more competitive.

■■■ they’re mailing it?? Well MITES and HSSEAS at UCLA is my only shot now. (I totally screwed up my interview for JPL) Sighh this sucks I live in cali. Oh add me to the list: california male. I’m gonna get that letter like next month… maybe that way it’s better at least I can dream ya know?

Oh, National Honor Society. Yeah i had the grades, but the application require 3 acts of leadership and community service. I only had 2 different volunteer services and 1 leadership activity.

At my school, NHS isn’t that serious. All you have to do is bring a kroger sack of trash to the library every Monday and say you picked it up off the campus. Although, everyone just brings trash from home so it kind of defeats the purpose. I think you have to have above a 3.5, which all the AP/IB kids have like automatically with the class weightings.

McLeodM1–we had to list our ec’s, leadership positions, and volunteer experience, but we didn’t need a certain amount of each. they looked at the whole application holistically.

I got into NHS recently too. It’s kind of like JMC’s program. You need a 90 unweighted average to get in, then you have to write a semi-decent essay about your volunteering/community service, and then you have to get signatures from adults that show you’ve been a part of clubs, sports and other EC’s. Our NHS basically does a food drive and tutoring, and that’s it. But it’s nice to be accepted somewhere and good that I can put it on my college app.
