MLB 2014

Well i can still say i was right about it being a one-run game.
So did the Royals’ worst base-running play of the night lead to their seven stolen bases? Butler wanders off first, Hosmer gets thrown out at home and Soto injures his thumb on the tag. Baseball can be such a strange game.
Looks like Baltimore and KC are going to be make their fans some great memories

Woe to the KC fan living on the East Coast. Their first win over Oakland in 12-innings lasted almost five hours and ended at 12:52 AM EST.

Not to be outdone, their win over LA in 11-innings lasted over four hours and ended at 1:12 AM EST. Tonight’s game is scheduled to start at 9:30 PM EST so it might get over around one o’clock too. That’s no biggy if you are young and can sleepwalk at work, but it is a problem for us oldtimers, and for kids who have to go to school.

There are three chances for a local or subway World Series: LA vs LA, LA vs SF, and BALT vs WASH. KC or BALT vs WASH would be a nice series with fresh teams involved.

Don’t forget KC vs STL as another local series. That’s what I’m hoping for, though I’m sure the networks don’t want that for ratings reasons.

Attended Game 2 of Baltimore v. Tigers. The energy in Camden Yards was like nothing I have ever experienced. And I go to a lot of baseball games. The Tigers really need to do something dramatic about their bullpen in the off season. Really hoping for KC v. Baltimore next!

There must be a whole generation of folks from the Great Plains unaware that postseason baseball games can be fewer than 10 innings.
Great defense KC, no one can not love their style of play.

KC-BALT is looking like a possible ALCS. KC has already played 34 innings in 4 days and their pitchers may be getting a little tired. Last night’s KC game got over at 1:18 AM EST.

I may have to root against them getting into the World Series if they keep on winning extra innings games past midnight.

Lol, Tony! Apparently KC tied five other teams for winning the most postseason games in extra innings in a single post season. The other five . . .all went on to win the World Series.

I am torn. My team is out of it. Feel I should root for BMore since I live here now and they have had a long dry spell. But KC is so likeable and fun to watch. It is hard not to hope they keep winning.

Hitless this series, Josh Hamilton made $17 million in 2014, more than Perez, Hosmer, Moustakas, Cain, Davis, Holland, Ventura make combined.
And how about that, Orioles vs. Royals in the ALCS. It’s like parity has arrived in baseball, and everyone has a shot! Pretty cool that a team that hasn’t been in the World Series since the 1980s will represent the American League.

Same thing if Dodgers win the NL pennant. And of course, Nats/Expos have never been.

I live in Royals territory, and I have lots of friends and co-workers lucky enough to attend recent home games. They have been tired at work the next day, but so happy!

Bad year for LA teams, great year for Missouri teams!

Predictions anyone?

I am going with Orioles in 7 and Giants in 6 for an all orange and black Halloween World Series.

Royals still loving the extra innings.

Haven’t thought about it being Halloween colors.
I would love to see Bochy v. Yost; Yost would end up with Finnegan v Posey with the winning run on 3B.
FWIW, which is diddly, KC swept the Giants back in August.

Still lovin’ those Royals!

What a game! Glad I am married to a cardiologist . . .KC is so gritty. Hope the O’s win today. Both teams have no quit in them. Great baseball.

Of course you get the team with the most homers against the team with the fewest homers and the team with the fewest homers hits 3 and the team with the most homers hits 0.

33–Yes, some real heart-pounders! I can hardly watch. . .

2010 . . . 2012 . . . 2014

Ok game #2 was just as thrilling. I wonder if KC is just going to mow through the entire playoffs without losing any games, lol. That can’t really happen, can it? Has it ever happened?

The Big Red Machine swept the Phillies and then the Yankees in 1976.

Oh thanks for that info. Although I have to confess that I don’t know which team is known as the “Big Red Machine”. Cincinnati? I have only been a big baseball fan for the last ten years or so - - still learning!!
