Finally! I am home1 and I can actually look at the Macy’s link. IMO, there is absolutely zero need for any belt. Add sparkly shoes, some jewelry, and it is going to look gorgeous.
I love the satin. I would see if a seamstress could make a belt like the others said. Where does the dress zip? Perhaps attach both ends by the zipper? I would not use a belt that is not the exact same color as the dress, you will ruin the silhouette.
Has anyone ever had a dress made for them?
Thendress I have tentatively selected for my kid’s wedding has a not shiny ribbon “belt”. It is actually part of the dress…it is as described above…meets at the zipper in the back. Same exact color as the dress. It looks great.

I like some of these… But I would make sure to do something about the tie on the back - these bows look silly on anyone but flowergirls. I would add some clasps or buttons or something to get rid of the silly bow.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I tried the dress on again and just reversed the ribbon so that it tied in back to see what it would like with the ribbon as a belt and I really liked the look. So I think when I take it to get hemmed, I’m going to see if she can used the ribbon to make belt of sorts that just meets at the zipper in the back - I think it will be a good look. Thanks for all your help!
Oh, and my legs aren’t all that great, but the slit doesn’t really go all that high. Probably because I’m pretty short - I’m going to need to have about a foot taken off when it gets hemmed!

Just curious what you will do with bra straps with the lace top.
Isn’t there some kind of bra with clear plastic straps?
The clear plastic straps can be even more distracting and can shine and show through some fabrics. Sometimes it’s best to ask the dressmaker to put in some cups so that no bra is needed, if one needs to use a dressmaker to hem the gown anyway…
My D’s photographer warned about the clear straps–they can appear shiny in pics!
Strapless bra would do the trick.
Yes, a good strapless bra or a bra that matches your skin will not be visible through lace.
My MOG dress had similar lace, and it’s true that the clear straps are obviously shiny in photos. I wore a strapless bra.
