Mole Day projects, anyone?

S’ HS celebrated mole day yesterday at 6:02 am. It is an annual event, chem students coordinate the event, they have food, play games, dress up. It is a fun event for the science oriented kids. They also create a themed tshirt each year.

I have to admit I had never heard of mole day until my oldest was in the HS. I guess we skipped that event when I was in HS and a college engineering student.

I used Mole Day to celebrate my birthday. I have made this an annual tradition.

Last year for Mole Day my D made a stuffed animal mole in the caricature of Volde-mole (aka Voldemore from HP). It was very cute.

Here are some pix from our school’s mole day

Our due date was actually extended to Halloween, we had to make stuffed moles but we’d get extra credit if we dressed them up and wore a matching costume to school

Oops bumped a dead board but I was minnie mouse and made mine minnie mole (like millimole the unit)

Years ago S#1 got his pic in the yearbook with his Mole-io (Mario)–it was awesome.
S#2 had “Rick Mole”–It had a card with it that said “Open immediately for an URGENT message regarding National Mole Day”-- It was one of those cards that you could record your own message–when you opened it, it played “Never Gonna Give You Up. . .” I thought it was the greatest thing ever. The teacher never gave it back.
S#3 has chemistry this year, but his class isn’t making moles. Not sure if I’m sad or relieved.
