Most Impacted UCB Major (Transfer)

Econ is a capped major. I’m not sure how it affects the selectiveness of admission to UCB, but as a transfer you’d enter L&S undeclared. In your first semester you need to complete some pre-reqs (one of Econ 100/101 A/B and usually a stats class) with a certain GPA to declare the major. <a href=“Incoming Transfer Students | Department of Economics”>Incoming Transfer Students | Department of Economics;

As for your cousin, if I had to guess I’d say L&S CS is either harder or the same as Econ in terms of admissions. EECS (in CoE) is definitely more competitive than the L&S majors, and you need stellar grades (ESPECIALLY in CS!) to get in there.

The link music1990 posted shows you the percents accepted… unless you meant something else by impacted, that should tell you the info you’re looking for. Those with a low percentage of students accepted are more competitive for admissions.

If you’re curious about L&S capped majors (need to complete pre-reqs with GPA requirement), they’re marked on here: http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/major/majorlist.html</a></p>
