Delta, USAir, Frontier and American have been the main culpirts. I haven’t had that much trouble. I’ve just watched them operated rudely and as little Hitlers just because they can. It has raised my ire, but nothing that I thought was a huge thing. I insisted on a receipt and they did get me the receipt–the only receipt given out, by the way, in that series of events. The video wouldn’t do anything much at the lower levels either as they have no procedure as to how they evaluate those things. They HAVE TO address the receipt because it is spelled out that they do, You go to their own boards and if you have a receipt and they can’t come up with your bags, what you can do is right up there and it involves a pain in the neck for them as well. You show a video, and they’ll tell you to go fish, and you then have to decide what the next step you want to take is. You take it to court, you’ll probably win, but the time and trouble is a lot more than a simple lost baggage report with a receipt.

I was a very noicy consumer and used to go after companies like this. Yes, I got a lot of satisfaction in getting abuses addressed and even got a lot of extras. DH 's job is such that making noise often gets quick results here. BUt it’s all about avoiding this sort of thing now and having to devote the least amount of time and trouble.

On that particular trip, a woman did not have her wheelchair at her destination. Which seriously inhibited her ability to get around, and other wheelchairs had to be found for her which took up time and attention. In order to come “identify” a found wheel chair, her friends/family had to go back to the airport the next day to claim it.
