Moving across country when you don't have a ton of stuff

Can’t comment on reimbursements but will say that shipping directly from a UPS store is usually very economical.

I’m always surprised that a moderately heavy 16 X 20 inch or so box can be sent for a moderate amount of $.

Agree with general consensus to leave most things home and acquire basics when you get there.

I am not recommending this, but my son’s gf is moving to the west coast. He is on the east coast. She just moved all her “stuff” - which I think is almost entirely clothes - into his apartment. He said when she starts her new job he is going to send her a few boxes of her clothes, I guess via UPS. Then he will take more with him when he visits her. Then when he returns he will send a few more boxes.

^Sounds like a way of facilitating a long distance romance. :slight_smile:
