muhlenberg?

One of ore son’s best hs friends enrolled in Muhlenberg intending to attend 3 years in the college’s 3-2 engineering program. I guess he really liked it because he stayed 4 yrs and graduated with a BS in physics.

We visited 17 colleges last spring and early summer. D was on the campus for less than 30 minutes and said I really like it. She visited again in the fall to interview and just attended the June registration session for the fall semester last week. She will likely major in History or possibly English with maybe a minor in theatre. The History and English departments are excellent.

awww… zmom - I wish I had known you were going to visit. I would have set you up with D2 who is staying on campus this summer taking summer classes. She loves to meet with prospies, and has lots of time this summer since her class is in the evening. Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

I can’t tell you how different variations of your story I’ve heard - visiting the school, not knowing what to expect, and walking away with it as the students’ #1 choice. There’s a whole tradition of ‘door-holding’ that students do for others that is so heart-warming.

D2 will be in London for the fall semester, but will be on campus until mid-August if you decide to make another visit and would like to spend some time speaking with a current student. Let me know.

zmom - forgot to add that Muhlenberg’s ED has a very late application deadline. If you feel your job security is in a better place come next Janury, please encourage her to apply ED as the deadline isn’t until Feb. 1st… much later than most schools. That’s still eight months away, hopefully enough time for you to get a handle on the economy.

Thanks Teriwtt! You’re probably going to get very sick of my questions.

zmom - no problem; I also know anothermom-w-q is great at answering questions. When D2 decided on Muhlenberg, I had a TON of questions that she was very helpful with. I should add in southjerseychessmom, too. Both of their kids are older than mine and have had great experiences with the 'Berg.

I have to add, I think it’s so cute that she actually bought a Muhlenberg sweatshirt already. If/when you get to the point where you are interested in getting an idea of scholarships available to the top applicants, let me know. My daughter did pretty well in this department.
