Muir Orientation:

Oh crap yea. I forgot where to get the information for where to meet, etc.

at the muir quad!!

Hey, does anyone know when the orientation is going to end? (time)

June-July sessions start with check-in at 8:30 a.m in the Muir College Quad. The sessions end shortly after noon on Day Two.

The September Orientation session begins with check-in at 8:00 a.m in the Muir Quad. The September session will end at approximately 5:30 p.m. on the same day.

what do we need to bring in for check-in info?

Session 1 is over!

Does anyone care to describe the experience and activities that happened in the orientation?

I’m going there on Monday/Tuesday and wouldn’t mind knowing some things about it before I’m off!

I’m sure it’s an awesome experience Oyama…

I’m surprised we haven’t seen any impressions yet from ANY of the orientations. You’d think someone would want to gloat about how they were in San Diego or something…

;) I’ll go into details Sunday night. I should be at the floor 5 party right now but need to finish some homework that’s due RIGHT after orientation is over before I can let myself go paaaarty!

… Oh my. Not quite what I expected, and I’m a little bit disappointed. I guess everyone’s just tired from the 5 am –> 9 pm and having to wake up at 6:30 tomorrow?

:\ It is sad when I am online at an orientation from a lack of things to do. All the girls in my suite = sleeping.

Do we HAVE to do whatever they tell us too? Cuz i still need to take the math placement test and i wanted to take it monday night…

syneria u had homework to complete??? :0 Ok so am I getting this wrong or did they actually give you homework during orientation?

LOL NONONOONONO!
No way they’d do anything like give homework for orientation. No way-!

Well, my “homework” was to prepare tutor material for my ickle kid I tutor, and I tutor her right after I come back from orientation, so I had to get the material ready.

And if you’re talking about the academic scheduling, no, they’re just going to advise you. You talk to a counselor one-on-one eventually, so just… discuss with her/him.

Wow that’s a relief…hehe…thanx…I get a little edgy thinking of the first day of college neways, the thought of doing homework blew me off…

sooo… We get free parking tomorrow?

yes, free parking.

what do you do during the orientation other than talking with your advisor?

A ton of fun stuff. Just walk in with a open mind and just be social with everyone.

Well thats descriptive =P

Is it heavily scheduled or more just things going on at various places?

I’m worried about my D who has looked forward to attending UCSD for so long. She is white. Do you think there are racial cliques there that exclude whites who are in the minority? Perhaps it was just first-day jitters . . . This is so sad to me.
