My daughter who originally wanted to attend art school, was encouraged to attend Reed because of the ability to use the studios, without being an art major.
She eventually switched her creative outlet to vocal music, as it was less time consuming, and didn’t require replenishing of expensive art supplies.
The music dept is quite small, but good. There is also a strong music community in Portland.
