<p>That is true about Oklahoma City University’s music composition program. I have attended concerts of OCU’s Project 21: Music for the 21st Century featuring the work of Joel B. New, a music theater major who also studied music composition as an undergraduate and went on to NYU’s master’s program. He is a recent winner of the Jonathan Larson award. Also Project 21 composer Rick McKee is writing music for Macy’s and Orlando theme parks. Several OCU composers have put together musicals and/or chamber operas. Do a google.</p>
