<p>I will also point out the issue of time. Yes, your clients may pay you, and may even pay you when you present bills. But if you start working in, say, December, you may not finish until June, and the bill may be paid in July. That’s not very helpful in terms of putting food on the table in April. </p>
<p>(Incidentally, that is why being salaried is such a wonderful thing, and why small business owners say that they take such big risks. As long as the firm or company is solvent, salaried people will get paid every week or every other week; the owners may not get paid for years.)</p>
