<p>Hmm… yeah you’re close, but especially after this year it’s gotten much more competitive than one would think. Being Asian is definitely a plus and out-of-state might help you a bit too. Also, just curious, what state are you applying from? If it’s not in the states that touch GA, you might get even more of an advantage. . Recalculate your GPA based on the UGA scale (only add .5 to all AP classes) and see where it ends up- I think the average honors GPA is around 4.07 using that scale. Your SATs are around the lower-middle end of the honors range but will probably be fine. I’d suggest visiting the campus and meeting with the honors people, being sure to tell them how much you’d love to be in the program. Definitely try to get all A’s next semester and if you don’t get invited at first send them your updated transcript and/or new test scores if you decide to retake. </p>
<p>As far as the process, you receive the honors program application a few weeks after you get admitted EA if they think you could be qualified. They’ll tell you in the early spring (around early Feb. I think) then if you’re in. At least, that’s how they did it last year.</p>
