My D called from Europe to announce that she has a boyfriend - why ?

On the other hand, she may be wanting to ask sensitive questions about contraception, and safety from STDs. If she is overseas she may not have access to normal college health services. Although it might be uncomfortable, this is the perfect time to ask her what precautions she is taking, and casually outlining the options and their efficacy.

The good news is there is only about six weeks left of summer. Yet, you want to be sure she doesn’t come home with any, um, unwanted souvenirs which could compromise her helath or future.

Well ,I just chatted for about 45 minutes with my D’s young man - brilliant would be an understatement ! He want to build a sustainable house and run for politics . His English is near perfect- the only word he didn’t know was "preconception " . When they first met they discussed politics for almost 4 hours , according to my D . I am not worried .

Ah, a nice happy ending. Not to the relationship - to your worries!

Been thinking of you all day, faux. Glad you got to talk to the young man and liked him.

Whether the romance blooms or withers, it sounds like she made a great friend.

Congrats and best wishes to your daughter!

Very cool! It’s great that he talked to you so long. Sounds like a nice young man.
