Airfare is pretty cheap in the long run, Indiana may cost a little more than Birmingham, but figure $1,000-$1,500 on travel per year. The distance takes some getting used to, but with all the technology these days, it’s really easy to stay in touch. Granted some people don’t deal with distances well and this has to be considered. Travel will only become a big cost when everybody in the family wants to go see the college multiple times a year. Indiana is a great school from what I’ve heard and I think your D would do well at either school.</p>
