<p>The thing is, even if you major in the arts, the case at many schools is that you still receive a “broader” education. It may not be like a BA in another major but there is still study of other subjects. While my D is in a professional degree program in the arts, she still studies liberal arts subjects. In fact, she is very into the that academic component and opts to take difficult courses that intrigue her. She just took Sociology of War and really liked it and did well in it. She was and still is an excellent academic student. A “major” doesn’t preclude learning about the world and becoming a thinker and writer. I don’t care what my kids major in. I believe they will become educated.</p>
