The carbs might get you, though. Everything in moderation, right?
Eggs Benedict. It’s what I usually order when we go out for brunch.
Eggs Benedict hands down - but that’s really more brunch than breakfast for me. That’s the one thing Mr. Sabaray is really good at preparing - and he’s cheerful about doing it. I am also guilty of enjoying leftover cold pizza. Around the holidays I made these almond croissant toasts that were really good - I’d have to say that was a guilty pleasure for sure.
I make breakfast sandwiches when the kids are home. I use Pillsbury Grand Biscuits and top with bacon, scrambled eggs that have shredded cheese mixed in (either Trader Joe’s Swiss & Gruyere or sharp cheddar) and a dollop of Nashville Jams 3 pepper jam. There are few things that I enjoy as much for breakfast.
Mmmmmm…sounds SO GOOD.
@CountingDown - we had “porridge oats” at a BnB in Ireland and they served it with a float of whiskey or Bailey’s on top.
That’s what I eat on cold mornings, lol. Keeps me warm! I choose whiskey, and add pecans too. Yum.
Tortilla sprinkled with sharp cheddar cheese and bacon bits. Fold up and microwave.
Yum!
Toast spread with a mixture of brown sugar and butter, topped with pecans and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Put in the microwave for 10 seconds to melt the butter.
My version of cinnamon toast.
Bacon bread=fried bread in Scots vernacular. I grew up on fried bread as a weekend standard made by my Scottish dad. With fried tomatoes, an egg or two and mushrooms. He was not happy when I became a vegetarian age 13.
I far prefer the breakfast pumpkin pie post Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hey, is healthier than donuts or cinnamon rolls.
When in my native Arizona, I like crispy hash browns with an egg or two, salsa and longhorn cheese.
But our local farmer’s market has a spinach empanada to die for.
I’d read about those croissants so bought a box a month ago. They are currently sitting in the freezer waiting for an mental health emergency morning.
Lucky Charms. I love Lucky Charms. I buy one box a year.
I’m on board that cinnamon toast train. The nuts is a new level!
I admit to LOV-ING any bread product with LOTS of butter. I’ll put that in my guilty breakfast list.
Here’s how my mom made cinnamon toast for dinner when my dad was out of town:
Turn on broiler
Butter bread
Sprinkle with lots of cinnamon sugar
Dot with extra butter
Broil until edges are dark brown
Serve with scrambled eggs
@dragonmom, my mom made cinnamon toast like that and your post brought a smile to my face as I conjured up those memories. Sometimes for dinner when we were under the weather. Yum!
Thank you for stirring up some happy memories!
We had so much fun when my dad was out of town for work.
(Sorry Dad! #butitstrue)
I might be the odd person but my favorite breakfast pleasures are salty and savory.
1 is french toast which I only eat at home due to my uncommon way of eating it. I don’t like sugar or vanilla in my egg mixture. Just milk, egg, salt, pepper and a splash of orange juice. Cooked in a combo of olive oil and butter so the edges get crisp. Served with melted butter on top and salt and pepper. Yum!
2 toasted poppy seed bagel from a real bagel shop (not one from the grocery store or Costco) with both salted butter and cream cheese on top.
3 toasted sourdough bread with salted butter
I love breakfast for dinner but my H does not. He is usually agreeable to most things so it’s an unusual stance for him to take. I have eggs for dinner when he’s not home.
Thank you for stirring up some happy memories!

When my dad was away, we (the kids) would all fight over who got to sleep with mom!
I love french toast made with brioche bread and heavy cream (sometimes a splash of Bailey’s) in the batter served with equal parts unsalted butter and real maple syrup.
Cinnamon toast! Brings back memories of a Miami Beach vacation when I was a teenager. We would have breakfast in the hotel coffee shop and the big thrill was getting cinnamon toast. So exotic!
Everyone needs to make some cinnamon toast this week.
