I am taking it all in and reading all your responses.
A lot of good suggestions here.
His pain is in one specific area on the left side mid-back.
The blood workup was done which was fine but a tiny lung nodule was found on the cat scan so now I am freaking out thinking the back pain might be related to that.
@Emily0722, the lung nodule is very, very likely to be nothing to worry about. One thing I learned in years of breast cancer follow-up scans is that we all have a ton of benign cysts and other weirdnesses we’d never knew we had if we weren’t looking.
Back pain is notoriously hard to treat because it can arise from so many causes. I assume with all the specialist he’s been to they’ve looked for anything obvious, like a herniated disk (the first thing I though of based on what he’s experiencing).
My chiropractor, who works with many professional athletes, is a huge fan of yoga. Does gentle stretching exacerbate his back pain?
Most folks I know who have lung nodules have their MDs recommend watchful waiting. If it doesn’t increase in size, they usually let such nodules be and don’t remove them. Haven’t heard of lung nodules causing any pain.
