Baywood, our daughter, a sophomore, couldn’t be happier, and we as parents, couldn’t sing UR’s praises any louder. For her, academics have been rigorous and interesting, 13 different profs. (with the exception of 1 “clinker”) have demonstrated excitement about their subject areas and strong dedication to teaching/mentoring, social life/club involvement has been rich and amazing (we actually worry that she is over-involved but she’s in heaven!), the weather is addictive (we’re from the northeast), and the city of Richmond and its environs have proven to be lovely, welcoming, and full of opportunity. She declared her major last week - and has gotten excellent, pragmatic advice on continuing education and career moves from her academic advisor, profs. in her areas of interest, and pre-professional advisors. Our son, a h.s. junior, is desperately searching for a different school to rival his sister’s, so he can “chart his own path” elsewhere, but we’re skeptical that he’ll find it. In short, I think you and your son can expect “the love” to continue!
