If you go to community college, you can use [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) to look up which courses you need to complete to transfer to a UC or CSU in your desired major.

Physics typically has a relatively simple set of requirements that are all commonly offered courses (although courses being full and overflowing may be an issue at many community colleges). Since you mention CCSF, the course numbers below refer to CCSF courses:

Math: freshman calculus (110A and 110B), multivariable calculus (110C), linear algebra and differential equations (120 and 125, or 130)

Physics: physics for physics and engineering majors, including mechanics, wave motion, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, relativity, and quantum mechanics (full sequence of 4A/4AL, 4B/4BL, 4C/4CL, 4D/4DL)

(sometimes) Chemistry: general chemistry (101A or 103A, 101B if more than one semester required or recommended)

(sometimes) Computer science: sometimes recommended

Breadth courses: most UC and CSU campuses accept the IGETC pattern for community college transfer students, but check each campus to make sure that it is accepted for your major.
