<p>1) Becuase photos are mutually ‘shared’ by friends, there aren’t so many pic-whores on facebook.</p>
<p>2) Originally (I don’t know about now), friends were sorted by which school/college they attend, making it easier to catalog them.</p>
<p>3) It’s a great way to network inside your own school, since the courses you list in the site place you in a compendium of other students in the same class.</p>
<p>4) Like Myspace, it is another way to be connected to friends from other schools.</p>
<p>5) It almost works as a filter from middle schoolers from posting.</p>
<p>6) No angsty/annoying bulletins (yet).</p>
<p>I’m sure there are far more reasons to list, but since I’m not the most familiar with it, I wouldn’t be able to provide you with many more.</p>
