The Inn on First in Napa. Wonderful hosts, wonderful room, wonderful breakfast. We also did a Platypus Bus tour of the vineyards. We have never done that kind of thing before but really enjoyed it.Only ten people on board with a well informed and entertaining guide. They were able to take us to some of the smaller vineyards that are family run and we had lunch provided in a lovely arbored garden at one of the vineyards. Great day and no need to worry about about drinking and driving.
We were just in the Napa Valley over New Years. Stayed in the Embassy Suites Napa, which was great. Wold have preferred a more boutique hotel, but we were barely there. My favorite city is St. Helena–great shopping and restaurants. Cook and Cook Tavern (newly opened next door) are awesome. Other area restaurants where we had fantastic meals were Press and Bottega. Our trips there aren’t complete without a trip to the Oakville Grocery for picnic and other items.
