My D approved the menu at Don Giovanni. She is the picky eater. My sister has made the reservation so we are set. We will have lunch and go to the winery after. Lucky for us my D doesn’t like wine so she can drive. Thank you everyone for all the suggestions.
I’m going to keep the list of suggestions for future visits. We have only found one restaurant we like in Vacaville and Napa isn’t that far.
mom60, Requst a table that is not in front of the kitchen areas. When we ate there about a month ago we had a table off to the side and it was great. The time before that, our table was horribly located, right in front of the kitchen/prep areas. They were so booked up that changing tables was not a realistic option. They waive their corkage fee on a bottle you bring in if you order one bottle from their wine list. I brought in a Rombauer Zinfandel and ordered a Zin (don’t remember which one except the Rombauer was slightly better).
Two thumbs up for Rombauer zin. B-)
Updating- thank you all for the great suggestions. We had a nice lunch on Saturday at Bistro Don Giovanni. The location was perfect and the parking was easy. It’s always great to find a place with a decent size parking lot. We had a last minute number change and we went from a table for 5 to a table for 8. We had to adjust our time but the restaurant made it work. We had a nice table near the fire place. We got there a few minutes before the restaurant opened and we enjoyed sitting in the sunshine in their nice garden area.
After lunch we drove up to Napa Cellars. My sister got four comped tastings with her wine club membership but the gentleman working generously gave us 5. As someone up thread mentioned Napa Cellars has a nice garden and picnic area. We sat outside on the comfortable patio furniture and enjoyed our wine and visited while the teens were able to play cornhole. It was a beautiful day and it was nice to see my sister and her family. It was an opportunity for my sister and her family to meet the fiancé of my D.
