@sunflower: I know that I’m gonna end up turning mine in at school during 9th period, so i refuse to stress out about it. I with you slow the site is, I’m being realistic here. And may i suggest writing your essay on a word document and then copy/ pasting it onto QB? It’ll make things much easier for you.

Omg. Site.isn’t.working.

hi guys,

I’m applying for questbridge too. Except I have the swine flu and my teacher rec isn’t in and the site is NOT WORKING. AHH! Are you all as stressed as I am? Or should I just chill?

@Julia: Oh yeah Word has been my best friend throughout this entire process. I seriously do not trust my typing skills to just type it onto the website and submit. But I actually might just turn it in tomorrow during school…I just had a minor freakout when I realized how soon the deadline is…sigh

Wow…you guys realize this is just the tip of the iceberg in stress? Lol…

But yeah, the site is down. Too many procrastinators. Hopefully it’s not like this the entire day. And what did you guys write in the additional section?

I can’t access my application, and it seems as though many people are in the same situation. Is it possible that I won’t be able to apply to Questbridge (even though EVERYTHING IS READY) because I couldn’t submit my app in time because I couldn’t access the website? (Please say no…)

I’ll probably write a little more about my family’s financial situation, and that’s it.

Just keep trying. I doubt that will be the case Undine.

Is it bad to open one of my essays with a quote from my favorite book? I’m basically writing my essay on my favorite book from when I was younger and how that’s led to my love for literature and all that good jazz. But is it not good to do that?

And since the book I’m writing about is originally in french will be even worse if I use the original french version? or should i use the english translation? argghhhhh

collapses

I just don’t know anymore.

don’t worry guys I was reading last year’s thread…they were all nervous but it seems like they all made it. Last year the deadline was extended by 24 hours lol cause on the last day, the website was not working. Hopefully I will be done and submitted before that happens.

sunflower: I think that’s wonderful. Just be yourself in that essay, edit it, and you should be fine. If that quote really affects you, go for it!

Can I submit my application even if one of my teacher recommendations isn’t completed yet (GAHHH, I gave it to him exactly THIRTY FOUR DAYS AGO!!)? Also, is anyone else having problems with the school profile fax showing up on the "My Locker"page? My guidance counselor told me he sent it last Thursday, but my My Locker page doesn’t say anything

I’m so nervous…my essays are all done but my friend is proofing my last one so I’m just waiting on her but I’m terrified the site will beeven slower tomorrow when I try to submit

@sunflower: What i would do is write the quote in it’s original French and then proceed to write it again in English. In my bio whenever i wrote something in Spanish i put the English translation in quotation marks.

So, the part where it asks to specify where you got the information from Questbridge, what if you didn’t get it from a teacher, counselor, etc?

your essays sound so amazing already! using 2 languages! One of mine is about peanut butter. very plain.

by the way, on the first page of the application, where they ask you for a photo of yourself, did any of you have problems uploading it? I tried at least 3 times and I keep getting an error message with some weird code/language.

For ACT scores, when they ask for the writing do they mean the score out of 12, or the writing/english combined score out of 36?

is there another box for the english score?
