I can get to my locker page but as soon as i click edit, the site disconnects.

Wow that is so weird to me…but I’m still not gonna go do my hw! XD

Gotta make those essays sparkle baby!

Did you guys put in second semester senior classes as well? Or just first semester?

@Tom: Both semesters.

Wait, is the consensus here that it’s acceptable for us to play the pity card on our essays?

also, I know that this question has been asked, but because I don’t have time, I’m not going to go back and search the entire thread for the answer - if I’m planning on taking the October SAT, how do I signify that on the application? Do I just add another slot and not fill in the scores?

^Yea that’s what I did. And also, I seriously don’t think my essays make me sound like some dirt poor kid with nothing. I just wrote honestly, about how I was inspired by someone to excel academically, etc. It’s nothing compared to those sample QB essays. I hope they don’t see me as too well-off for Questbridge…gahhh

yes, you don’t fill in the score… at least that’s what it says on the top of the test scores section in the application.

The Questbridge website is TOTALLY lagging and constantly being disconnected.
Shiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet…
I have yet to write/submit my last essay! Oh no…

about the pity card, like tomjonesistheman said, I didn’t make mine as sad as the sample essays they give on the questbridge website. I thought that was really extreme. I only have 1 of my 3 essays that’s as dark as those sample ones. The other ones are somewhat lighthearted, I guess? One is about peanut butter (i know) and the other about running/habitat for humanity.

yeah none of my essays are very sad/intense either. i feel that if you try to force your essays into seeming sad and dark it’s just going to backfire on you. Sincerity is best in this case, I think.

Mannnn…I seriously don’t think I even have a chance of getting Matched. I’m just hoping for Finalist status which can help me in Regular Decision…can’t wait until I actually get into college…

where can I find this “sample QB essay”?

hey, keep your attitude up! think positive! you can never tell what college ‘want’ and it’s really useless to try and ‘chance’ yourself. think big, keep your fingers crossed, and remember that good or bad, everything happens for a reason. :)

@sunflower: Yeah i mean i wrote about some pretty bad stuff that happened to my family but the gist of my essay is the sense of humor and the drive i developed because of those things…i hope everything really comes through in my essay…
And i also hope that i don’t sound like a 4 year old because i didn’t use super complex diction…

if you become a finalist, can you put that down as an award on the common app as well?

Hey ya’ll do departmental awards count for those like…high school honors received or whatever? I have 4 D awards and the AP Scholar with Distinction…

good luck everyone! hopefully will see you on this thread tomorrow. bye!

Yea, I didn’t really talk about any “bad” stuff. I did try to sound honest, optimistic, and active though. I think my essays are solid; not emotionally wrenching or anything like that, just a solid and thorough story of my background/achievements.

@everyone: Can someone please give my question above a shot? lol take some pity on my lost soul…
