<p>The founder of a company I’m associated with received his BS and PH.d in Physics from UMass, has worked for Sandia National Labs, etc., and is a nationality recognized in his field. One alum doesn’t make a college’s reputation, but he by is no means an outlier. The list of distinguished UMass alumni is impressive.</p>
<p>I come in contact almost daily, or know personally, countless UMass students. There is almost none I wouldn’t hold in the same high regard as I do the vast majority of Smithies.</p>
<p>Also, many of my friends are UMass professors. Without exception, they’re brilliant, caring individuals. I’m informed by students they’re as wonderful in the classroom as I’ve known them to be in their personal lives.</p>
<p>Does UMass have at times an issue with underage or over-drinking? Sure, as do most colleges.
