<p>Welcome to military college life. My kiddo got weekend duty. OK - but THIS weekend?!! THIS weekend which is 3 days long!! THIS weekend when Navy Football wins and therefore Plebes got extended liberty!!! THIS weekend when she could have been at her sponsor family’s picnic and in her words ‘listening to REAL music for a change.’ Ahhhh the life of an Academy kid.</p>
<p>As I told my husband when she mentioned this to me -in war you don’t usually choose your liberty times -</p>
<p>This is the kind of committment young people are learning as a part of their decision to attend USNA.</p>
