NC State 2024 Admission Thread

Accepted into Exploratory Studies. Ugh!

I got deferred. Does anyone know your chances of being admitted on deferral? Or can explain deferral to me more in depth? Is there a difference between deferred and waitlisted?

Deferred here. At least we are still in it.

My son got accepted College Of Natural Resources- Sports Management. I am pretty shocked because we are OOS and his scores were within the target but his GPA was only 3.96. I really thought he would either have been waitlisted or denied. He met with an admissions person within the school when we went on a visit and I really think that made the difference

Deferred means he could still get in.

DD deferred also OOS

Any deferred from Wake County? I heard its harder to get in if you are in Wake.

Wake county here but son was accepted CoE. I thought being in wake would be an issue for him. Thankfully it wasn’t

Hey Y’all I got accepted which is exciting, however I am out of state so it is pretty expensive, does anyone know when I will hear about my financial package or what the average cost comes out to be for out of staters?!

Yeah but how many truly get in after being deferred? In the grand scheme of things I know he has great choices to choose from. And maybe he will actually get in with regular decision.

Would help if people stated major…ie, are the Deferrals mostly Engineering?
