NCAA Men's Basketball 2007

another one dies hard…slow death.

I called GTEch over Wisconsin, and Wash St losing to ORU, so I was close kindof. However, my living in Maryland prevented me from picking against the Terps until the Sweet 16.

Ouch, Wisconsin died too! Good thing I didn’t have them making past the second round! :D! #7 in my pool now!

Please refer to post #31 (and my condolences :frowning: )

UNLV is this year’s George Mason

Question: between UCLA and PITT, who will win? Why?

UCLA - because they’re better.

Who cares about that game anyway? It’ll be a snooze fest. It might be even worse than the Indiana-UCLA game. UCLA will coast with homecourt advantage

UCLA will definitely win!

But PITT has bigger and stronger guys…especially offense. UCLA has played teams like PITT and lost. At the same time, UCLA has great defense. It won’t be a snooze fest, avant-garde. Wisconsin-UNLV game wasn’t…look what happened.

Amherst College. Division III Champs! Go Lord Jeffs!!!

Uh, Bijoux, I don’t know if you follow the tournament at all, but did you watch UCLA/Indiana? The Bruins’ defense IS good, but they should be able to score a lot of easy fastbreak buckets when they force turnovers, especially with a speedster like Collison in the backcourt. They don’t. UCLA plays sloppy basketball and Afflalo is a streaky shooter. They have no inside offensive presence. Pitt’s even worse. Their defense is one of the worst in the country. Gray disappeared off the face of the Earth until recently. Plus, they turn the ball over way too much. Add all those elements together and you’ll have a really dry, boring game.

When did I ever mention anything about Wisconsin/UNLV?

Right…Avant-garde, I do indeed follow the tournament. I did watch UCLA-Indiana. It wasn’t terribly great…it actually made me nervous the way UCLA played, but asides from all that…
Let’s look at this: PITT has Gray and Aaron Kendall…center and forward, depending on how they play that day, can cause problems for UCLA. PITT has a strong offense, but yes, sucky defense. But they’re in the Big East for reasons. They are a more physical and more big of a team than UCLA. UCLA has one of the best defense in this tournament. This game could go either way. All of UCLA’s losses, except WVA, were to teams with a big post present.

College basketball is streaky anyway, it’s nothing compared to the NBA…all college players, with the exception of Durant…and a few others, aren’t always 99.9% of the time making the baskets or defending.

I mentioned the Wisconsin-UNLV to set as an example. I know these four teams differ from each other and in games in general, but I’m just saying PITT could upset UCLA and vice versa…I’ve got my bracket set on UCLA. I love the Bruins and I’m sure they can pull through. Plus, they have home court.

UCLA over UNC

UCLA over UNC?

No way, Jose!

Bob Dole ftw.
