ND Vision

Simply attending a summer program will not better your chances of acceptance to Notre Dame. I was in a meeting with the director of admissions and a few other students during a summer program q and a. Somebody asked if attending a summer program provides any benefit and he said that it does not. He said that it helps to show interest, but it does not push you to the front of the line or anything like that.

If you are in Vision or another summer program you need to find a positive way to stick out. I don’t know why more students do not do this, but if you want to make a serious impression on admissions it would probably be a good idea to schedule a private meeting with your state/region’s admissions director in the Main Building. Yes, while your friends are out on a scavenger hunt, you can really stick out by putting on a shirt and a tie and having a conversation with somebody in admissions. Treat it sort of like an interview. I know from experience that far too few people do this and it really is a shame. Good luck.
