My wife went to Vandy and financed all but the first year and my son is there now and we have no aid. We finally just paid off my wife’s student loan last year. I can tell you as the one paying for it, it is well worth the cost. I went to a public school and I had fun but I was just a number. My school could care less if I was there. My wife has an unbelievable job and a lot has to do with the education she received and the value of a school like a Vandy degree receives in the market place.

nashville is awesome, and just get accepted and do rotc or something. if you do well in science, they offer you merit-based full scholarships too

hey guys - my d, a senior, really likes Vandy - could anybody speak to her chances for a full ride with these stats? SAT 800 CR, 780 Math, 750, Writing,
1st in class, normal ECs - (pres. of one), 11 AP classes with 6 scores of 5 so far. Also, what about comparing UGA Honors accepting all AP credits knocking off her undergrad time while Vandy does not accept all AP credits>? Thanks!

I pm’d you, Miltonmom.

Vandy DOES give credit for (most) AP classes. It’s just not counted toward AXLE requirements. For example, D had credit for APUSH. She got 3 credits of credit toward her degree. Even though there is a similar USH class that will fulfill the USH AXLE requirement, D can’t use the APUSH credits to fulfill that AXLE requirement. Instead, she is taking Country Music. How cool is that?!
