Need an Internship (Junior)

I wanted to apply for a prestigious high school internship in the field of economics (or math, computers science, or business) but I have absolutely no idea where to find one. The department of commerce only has one internship position available, and its a lowly clerical role. I looked at the LEED Buisness Institute, but the deadline is in 5 days and it still costs $1300 even if you get in. I would appreciate any advice on how to acquire either a free or a paid internship in any of the aforementioned fields.

That’s about it. I would also like to add that programs which allow you to take courses at a college for free/at low cost are VERY welcome. I live in Maryland, and UMD doesn’t offer too many courses in their summer scholars program. Thank for reading.

bumping in progress…

I don’t whether this may be of use to you: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/summer-programs/1063234-how-apply-independent-research-internships.html

I know you want to stand out somehow. I know you’re doing this internship thing just so colleges will be impressed. But, they don’t really care. Honest. Get a summer job instead. Stand out by writing a sensational essay, and have your teachers write an amazing rec. But, it’s okay if you don’t get an internship this summer.
