Sorry, MOMA does have a fee you can’t get around. But the MET and Museum of Natural History you can give what you want.

There isn’t a lot to see at the actual Wall Street. The firms who are referred to as Wall Street are strewn all over the city. So if you just want to run by it, it won’t take long.

Second the advice about shoes. The most surprising thing about being in New York is how much you are on your feet. A day of shopping or sightseeing and you’ll walk as far as if you played 18 holes of golf, or further, all on concrete.

You have been given so many wonderful suggestions, just love fellow CC’ers! May I suggest that you look at Gray Line Tours and the Big Bus tours. They have set routes and tickets that allow on/off unlimited or frequent stops. They cover many of the sights and places that were suggested here.

If your daughter is a high school student age 18 or under, she can join high5:
<a href=“Teen Programs - ArtsConnection”>Teen Programs - ArtsConnection;
for $5 tickets to a variety of performances and 2/$5 museum tickets. And you can accompany her at the same price.

My D will be 17 at the time of our trip. Thank you for the High 5 tip!

I will look into the other museums and sights mentioned above. I love to research and plan. Thank you for the advice.

I know it looks like we just want to run all over and we do but I do want to savor a few places in NYC. So suggestions like the Boat Party restaurant seem like a good time to rest and enjoy NYC like the locals do.

The bus tour might save our feet. I do need to pace ourselves. She’s young but I am not! ;)

I second a visit to the Lower East Side and tenement museum on a Sunday. You can go to Katz’s too for great deli or many other restaurants all over that area. Art galleries are open on Sunday in the Lower East Side,too. Wall Street will be dead, but the Lower East Side will be much more interesting and more NY cool to your daughter. If the weather is nice definitely go over to the High Line and over to the Meat Packing District. Also a walk in Soho and lower Broadway is good on a Sunday.

At 17 your daughter should get student admission at the museums (bring her school ID with her). If you want to enjoy central park - grab a sandwich from the whole foods in the basement by Columbus Circle and bring it into the park to picnic.

Thank you so much to all of you!! I am going to read through all the suggestions again and see if I can work some more items into our trip. I missed the one about the tenement house. That does sound very good.

Thank you for the Central Park picnic idea too.

Cuttlefish-as I recall you have to book your tour of the tenement house ahead of time. They do fill. It doesn’t take that long, maybe an hour, but I think your teen will be enriched and will remember it long after,

And, just blocks away “Russ and daughters” very small shop- no place to sit, but there is a bench in the front.
I don’t know if they allow tasting like this - ck Louie one minute food clip …yum.
