I’m not sure what you’re thinking of, but in the US you can only work 20 hours per week on campus with a student visa and many of those jobs are just food service, checking people in at the gym, reshelving books in the library, or other unskilled labor. This will give you some spending money but that’s it. You might get a research position or a TA but you are competing against upper classmen for those and despite your experience a freshman is still a freshman. What opportunities do you think there are for an international student here?
