I had two Canons that printed beautifully for about a decade but the newer replacement Canon died much sooner.
I then bought an Epson multi function and I think most of the ink goes to nozzle and head cleanings. Print quality may be good for one doc and unacceptable for the next, even though I take care to use it regularly.
My latest setup is to keep the Epson around for the fax and scan functions. Not all multi function printers will still fax and scan if you are out of ink, but I think this one will (haven’t run out ink yet).
I then bought a Samsung 2835 B&W laser printer for $70 to be my go-to printer. I was just so sick of buying ink all the time. For me, 4 ink tanks just mean I’m changing some color of ink every 2 or 3 weeks.
The print quality of the laser printer is great.
My workaround for copying will be to scan on the Epson, then print on the Samsung. Usually scanning is good enough for me, for most things I don’t need the paper copy if I have it electronically.
