Sure isn’t easy to find decent lodging/airfare at this time of year. Ended up with 2 options-- very different. First was a week at an all-inclusive- the Intercontinental Presidente Los Cabos (San Jose Del Cabo) - on the so. tip of the Baja peninsula. The second was a 4 nite at the Marriott Aruba Ocean Club (Palm/Eagle). This is actually a 2 br condo (“villa” is their term) on the Marriott resorts properties. My s voted for Aruba, even thou it wasnt an AI (all inclusive) and was a shorter stay. Sax- how far will we be from the nightlife?</p>
<p>I like the Maho Bay eco-resort on St. John. Very unique and a good experience for all ages. Not luxurious, but awesome place to go.</p>
<p>We’ve been to the Cinnamon Bay campsite on St. John. Not quite as far town as Maho Bay and you don’t have to hike down the hill to get to the beach!</p>
<p>The hiking is part of what makes Maho what it is! Plus, by being up above the water the views from every cabin are amazing.</p>
<p>go camping… that way your boys can see their girlfriends in a true light.</p>
<p>rent a houseboat or rough it a bit…</p>
<p>Thanks for all the suggestions folks-- but we are booked at a resort in Aruba (see post # 41). Any seasoned Aruba travellers out there? Sax, where are you???</p>
<p>BTW, I went camping with an old bf many moons ago. Got the tent all set up in the campsite-- got all bugbitten (in teh Fla keys in August!), and then the clouds and rain moved in. We ended up at a hotel. Gee, we didn’t get married (whic was a good thing, actually). Guess I didn’t pass the “where do I plug in my hairdryer in the tent?” test. But then again, he didn’t pass the “gee, I am supposed to be faithful?” test. But I digress…</p>
