I wouldnt do the Barney song, it actually has a beat. I would go more for the Tone Loc song, Baby got back. No way somebody could practice violin, trumpet or anything else to that. Put in on a loop that will play over n over.

It’s a Small World might work not only to shut him up, but to get him to move!

For those who object to the noise of neighbors maintaining their lawns–who would probably also be the first to object if the neighbors did NOT maintain their lawns, and let them grow too high/too weedy etc.

I think we all would like it if our neighbors did all noisy/annoying chores when we were not home–except that of course, it’s most likely they are at work too.

And maybe the neighbors are annoyed when, after having finished their chores, they just want to quietly relax in their nicely mowed backyard–and you (or I) would start up our noisy mower/edger/blower…

Maybe the solution would be an informal neighborhood agreement for everyone to do their yard work on Wednesday from 6-8 and Sundays 2-4? (yeah, right…)

This is funny too–H and I recently moved to DC where we are living in a rental building, and the management is in the process of renovating every apartment in the building as it becomes empty. It’s annoying to be home during the workday because it is loud, and the noise carries all through the building as they work on each few units at a time.

There is a young family renting the unit next to us and they are not doing well…apparently the construction noise (they are replacing floors, cabinets, kitchens–the whole nine yards, in each unit) is interfering with the two children under age 3 napping, hearing their tv shows, etc…They go scream at the management office every day.

They also don’t like it that we are living in our unit…the walls here carry every sound (probably the ventilation /plumbing systems) and they have asked us not to shower or flush the toilet before 8 am or after 7 pm, nor during their childrens’ nap times…

Yes, we are fortunate to like several of our neighbors and our private piano bar. Good neighbors are better than strong fences and alarm systems.

This thread gives me an idea what to do when I retire, learn how to play piano. Neighbors watch out, here comes DrGoogle!

We had neighbors like that young family once when we lived in a large apartment complex. They expected everyone around them to be quieter than field mice, and their own children never cried, because they (the kids) trained the parents to jump through every hoop to stop them from crying.

Ice cream mobile truck tune would do, OP.
