^^ Ha, so we spinned our own wheels for nothing and what a stupid mistake of negative PR Netflix made on us…

OK then … LOL

so, a Qwikie?

Come to think of this. It might have been that a business deal behind the scene had fall through. Either the plastic or streaming division did not get sold, so they put them together again. As I said before, anyone can see the split does not make sense, and Netflix knows that the best.

Until a few weeks ago, we always got e-mails telling us Netflix had received the DVDs, and when we should expect the next couple. We also got periodic e-mails asking the quality of Streaming stuff, but no more. Does anyone know why?

^ we still get these emails … it seems at the same rate as always

I still get those emails also. Maybe your spam filter is eating those messages.

Thanks. I don’t think they are going to spam. I check it often. Is it possible that H, who handles the acct., opted out? Is that even an option?

gloworm, I still get the emails too. Just got one today … receiving a DVD on Wed.

I’m getting my DVD tomorrow. I can’t stop the DVDs until I finish Foyle’s War.

I can find plenty to watch on streaming…but the stuff that I REALLY want to watch doesn’t stream yet.

ellenemope, did you know that they are coming out with a continuation of Foyles War? ;)

Oh, Foyle’s War is an excellent series. We thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

I had no idea that they might continue it. Wonder what the premise would be as it ended with the end of the war.

Well, H says he didn’t opt out of e-mails at all. D is on the acct. for streaming.

More Foyle’s War in the offing? Looks like I’m stuck with Netflix for a while then…

Say what?! More Foyle’s War?! Oh happy day!! It’s the only reason I stuck with Netflix & dropped the streaming.

Oh I love Foyle’s War be sure to let us know if they keep going!

Greed kills… Subscribers flee Netflix, and Netflix shares tank :

Possibly crazy like a fox. So if these numbers are right … Netflix lost 800,000 customers and that certainly hurts … and the other 23,000,000 had an increase in fees of about 60% … the math to me says Netflix is making way more money now than before the price increase.

I’m a Netflix customer who is unhappy about the price increase and about the original idea of splitting the accounts. That said across the 5 people in our family we have 400+ videos in the DVD queue which are not available streaming (lots of old movies and documentaries) and another 200 in the streaming queue. As long as Netflix stays price competative we’ll probably stay with them.

They expected 600K customers to defect, but the actual number turned out to be 800K, and they now project a slower growth in their customer base. The Street was looking for earnings growth going forward, which mostly comes from growing the subscriber base. Sure, one can hike fees to pad earnings, but how long can one do it without triggering mass exodus of customers? One can only raise prices so much…

Mr. Hastings has cost himself close to $300 million as a result of this fiasco.

That’s gotta hurt.
