New $45.00 fee on USC account

Sorry, didn’t notice any $45 fee for my kids’ accounts–we have a spring admit sophomore transfer student & rising junior at USC.

The housing deposit (as I recall) doesn’t show up either but you get it back when your child no longer is with the USC Housing System (in our case, after our son opted to go with a competing housing outift after 2 years at USC). They will deduct any damage or losses out of the $400 deposit as well.

Also, remember if your kid is covered under your insurance, you can opt out of their student insurance & save yourself about $1000+ for the year. You have to fill out forms & get a letter from your insurer, but every savings helps. I am still waiting for our insurer to write the proper letter for this year (we were waived for his 1st 2 years of college & still have the same insurance).

EVERYONE has to pay the Student Health Center Fee, it is not waivable, but entitles our kids to get treatment at the health center (good for band-aids and simple medical care).
