<p>What I like about Keith is that he seems so genuinely thrilled by the good singers–he just glows when someone knocks it out of the park.</p>
<p>I’m trying to figure out if Nicki is really dominating the proceedings as as much as it seems, of if that’s just an editing trick calculated to ramp up the Nicki-Mariah drama. I guess we’ll know when the show goes live.</p>
<p>I’ve only seen parts of each show, so hadn’t heard Micah before, but thought he sang beautifully tonight. Does anyone understand why he was cut?</p>
<p>I could not BELIEVE that Micah was cut! Every performance we’ve seen of him has been as good as last night - no flops that I’m aware of! I just didn’t get it. </p>
<p>Why the heck did they end up with a group of 28 guys to have to get rid of an additional 8 of them next week (it appears they will narrow it down without the guys getting another chance to perform). Sounds like a problem with narrowing down right after performance instead of looking at the group as a whole after group songs. If I’m one of those 8 I’d be pretty ticked! </p>
<p>You are fully right, Nicki was right on the money with the comment to Matheus - he really bombed that performance. </p>
<p>Papa Peaches had no interest in being there or doing well IMO. Why would you try out for AI when you hate singing other people’s songs??? Sounds like he was just looking for a little camera time. Weird.</p>
<p>I have been watching AI only because there is nothing else on during it’s time slots so am not a very committed fan. I do not like Nicki. She talks too much and tells the contestants whom she really doesn’t know that she, “really, really loves” them. And her voice just grates on my nerves. </p>
<p>I was surprised at how many of the guys just didn’t know the words to their songs. I would think that would be the very first priority.</p>
<p>Well at this point, she has had the chance to “hear” these guys 3 or 4 times so I think that can give her a fair idea if she “really, really loves” their voice and performing ability. </p>
<p>They did do poorly on their lyrics last night. I know they only have 24 hours or so to learn them (maybe less) but after singing a song over and over you’d think you’d at least catch onto the words pretty fast. I think the stress for some of them is overwhelming. Stakes are high.</p>
<p>Dang it, I missed Wed and forgot to record it. Plus I missed a bit of last night, so I don’t really remember names. The only ones that I thought were notably good were the bald guy who played the piano (fantastic), and the Indian guy. I wish he’d lose the beard and the turban though, he might be good looking underneath that. </p>
<p>What happen to the kid with muscular dystrophy? I didn’t think he should have made it to Hollywood in the first place, but I was curious to see how he did.</p>
<p>The piano guy is Nick Boddington - loved him. </p>
<p>Do you mean the guy with Cystic Fibrosis? He did not make it through to the top 28. He was put in a group with other very young teens and I think only one of them made it through. He honestly didn’t have what it took vocal wise to continue - but I had hoped for his adventure that maybe he’d be good enough to make one more round.</p>

<p>I suspect that he would not be offended by somebody thinking he might be good looking if they could see all of his face. From the short time I’ve watched, he seems to have a good sense of humor and no chip on his shoulder.</p>
<p>I’m also not a big fan of singers wearing big cowboy hats. Or burkas. Then again, I really don’t want to see too much of people either (like how some of the ladies dressed during the Grammys).</p>
<p>Dang it, I forgot to record tonight again! I am never going to remember people’s names. I hope they do reruns.</p>
<p>There were a lot of good girls tonight, but none really stood out above the others for me. Cannot understand why they put that National Anthem girl through again.</p>
<p>“Hollywood Week” has been moved from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to the Valley Performing Arts Center at Calif State Univ Northridge. The rent must be cheaper.
It’s always been funny that “Hollywood Week” does not take place in Hollywood.</p>
<p>I thought Candice Glover stood out above all the others but so many of them had no business getting through based on tonight’s performances, imo. </p>
<p>Kez Ban is REALLY getting on my nerves… along with National Anthem girl.</p>
<p>I’m always underwhelmed by the girls. Guess I just truly prefer guy singers. Have to also say that so many of these girls seemed REALLY immature and or over the top cutsy. Ugh.</p>

<p>I admit I haven’t watched most nights so far but did see some of last night’s episode and agree with you 100%, jshain. It was ridiculous. It used to be that not knowing the lyrics was an automatic killer. All those girls writing lyrics on their hands and arms? Crazy. And, honestly, there were several girls who had no business being there. It was clearly for some not just a bad night, but a definite case of them having little talent.</p>
<p>The show tonight was awesome! Anyone watching? With the possible exception of Zoanette, aka National Anthem Girl, (emphasis on “possible”), I think the judges got it right with their top 40 picks!</p>

<p>Glad Kez is off the show. She seems like she isn’t even making the effort to stay on, though she had the talent to do really well. Who cares if you’re a square peg in a round hole (or vice versa), just sing your butt off.</p>
<p>Hmm…I only feel that a few of these girls are top contenders. WAY too much country for my tastes. The first solo girl was amazing - I thought Keith was going to break down crying! Will have to see how she does or if she just got really lucky singing that song she penned. </p>
<p>I hear that the girls and guys will not actually compete against each other till the finals. So in other words, each week “we” will vote off a girl and a boy till at the end there is one girl and a one guy left standing to go for the win. Not sure how I fell about that. (This is what I understand - I could have it wrong, but I don’t think so)</p>
<p>On Wednesday night’s show they had 10 girls competing for 5 spots in a sudden death where the judges decide after the 10 performances are over. Ditto tomorrow night and next week again-- 10 guys competing for 5 spots each of two nights. After that, the voters decide. At least, that’s the way I understand it… </p>
<p>Not many surprises for me, other than Tenna getting the nod over Subha. She (Subha) looked really awkward when she got off her piano bench and started moving on stage. It probably cost her a spot in the girl’s top 10. Thought Kreed had the best performance of the night-- by far-- but the bar wasn’t all that high overall. She sure isn’t guilty of trying too hard in the wardrobe department. </p>
<p>No one really sounded all that special in what was kind of an underwhelming night for me.</p>
